Hypnosis is a natural state.
People are going into trance all the time. Some people go into a trance when they are driving, sometimes to the extent that at the end of the journey, there are parts that they cannot remember experiencing.
The “state” of hypnosis is actually an ordinary human experience. It is like just before falling asleep, getting lost in thought, music, or even a movie.
Being in trance is being in a very relaxed state, more open to suggestions for positive change.
It is effective because it suspends and bypasses normal, conscious limitations. During a hypnotic trance, a person’s conscious mind (the logical, analytical part that is usually chattering in the background) is “out of the way”.
This means that suggestions for change are more readily accepted.
